Campers who prefer oceanside access can pair a stay here with a night at the nearby Frisco NPS Campground or Cape Point Campground.

Site Types and Amenities

Frisco Woods sells two kinds of RV site, so the hookups depend on which one you book. Its own rate table lists “Electric and Water” sites alongside “Full Hookup” sites at 30 or 50 amp, and the park defines full hook-up as water, electric, sewer, digital cable and Wi‑Fi. If you need sewer at the site, book a full hookup site specifically. The soundfront setting gives the campground a uniquely open feel — views across the Pamlico Sound stretch for miles with unobstructed western exposure for sunset watching. On-site amenities include kayak and paddleboard rentals, shower facilities, laundry, and a camp store. The campground is also a short drive from the village of Frisco and the town of Buxton, providing easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The NPS Frisco Campground is just over the dune ridge to the east on the ocean side.

Soundside Activities

The Pamlico Sound at Frisco Woods is shallow (typically 3–8 feet), warm, and remarkably calm compared to the Atlantic side — ideal for beginner kayakers, stand-up paddleboarders, and families with young children who want water access without surf. The sound is also excellent for fishing — speckled trout, red drum, and flounder populate the grass flats accessible by kayak or small motorboat. Birdwatching from the soundside is exceptional, particularly during fall migration. The campground’s position between ocean and sound means guests can drive to the NPS ocean beach for surfing and surf fishing in the morning and return for a calm sunset paddle in the evening.

Published 2026 rates

Frisco Woods is one of the few Outer Banks campgrounds that publishes a full rate table rather than making you request a quote. For the summer season, dated 1 May 2026 to 30 September 2026, nightly camper and RV rates run from $86 for an electric-and-water site to $106 for a soundfront full hookup site with 50‑amp service, with weekly, monthly and holiday-week columns alongside. Tent sites start lower, at $59 for a primitive site. Spring and autumn seasons, and the 2027 seasons, are published on the same page. Rates are based on two adults and two children with one vehicle; extra adults, extra children and second vehicles carry published fees.
