Rodanthe Watersports and Campground

Rodanthe Watersports and Campground is a small, family run soundfront campground in Rodanthe, combined with a watersports and beach gear rental operation. It is the right size to know by name and the wrong size for a big rig: the published site limits top out at 25 feet, and several sites are tighter than that.

What the official site publishes

  • A mix of soundfront and soundside sites for tents, pop-ups, vans, small trailers and small RVs, plus one 12 by 12 foot cabin.
  • Electric and water hookups at the sites, a bath house with hot showers, Wi-Fi, and fire pits on some sites.
  • No sewer hookups at sites. The reservation system lists water hookups and 20 and 30 amp electric, with no sewer amenity on any category.
  • Camping season runs from mid-March through the end of November. The campground closes December through mid-March.
  • One vehicle per site; parking is limited.
  • A five minute walk to the ocean beach, and walking distance to the fishing pier, skate park, restaurants and shops.
  • Campers get a discount on watersports and beach equipment rentals.

Rig length limits vary site by site

This is the detail most directories get wrong. The campground publishes limits per site, not one number for the whole property. Sites 4 and 5 take drivable RVs only, such as motorhomes and camper vans, up to 25 feet, with no towable trailers. Sites 6 and 8 take RVs of all types up to 23 feet, or 25 feet if the rig is drivable rather than towed. Sites 10 and 12 take all types up to 25 feet. The standard RV category is listed as fitting vehicles up to 25 feet. If you are unable to find a site, the campground asks drivable RVs under 25 feet to call.

Rates

Rates are quoted through the campground booking system rather than published as a table. For mid-August 2026 dates the nightly filter ran from 55 to 100 dollars, with standard RV sites averaging about 77 dollars a night and waterfront RV sites about 97 dollars. There is a pet fee, a 3 dollar one-time reservation fee and an optional 20 dollar site lock fee.

Pets

Pets are accepted and must be registered and paid for. The campground policy page lists a pet fee of 6.99 dollars per pet and the booking system currently shows 4.98 dollars per pet per night, so confirm the current figure when you book. Restrictions apply.
