Why Stay at Frisco
Frisco is the most landscape-distinctive NPS campground on the OBX — sites are tucked into actual dune topography rather than laid out on a flat field. That means more privacy between sites, more wind protection, and a surprisingly forested feel for a barrier island. It’s also the closest NPS campground to the Hatteras–Ocracoke ferry, making it a logical staging point if Ocracoke is on your itinerary.
Sites and Hookups
No hookups — bring fresh water full and tanks empty. Dump station and potable water spigots on site. Sites vary considerably by loop because of the dune terrain; check Recreation.gov for individual site dimensions and pick carefully if you have a longer rig.
