Hatteras Sands Campground

Hatteras Sands Campground sits in the heart of Hatteras Village at the southern end of Hatteras Island, roughly seven tenths of a mile from the beach. Its official site describes over 60 paved RV sites set among canals and grassy fields, and says the park welcomes big rigs. The wording is worth reading carefully: many sites feature water, sewer and electric, not all of them, so this profile classifies the hookups as mixed rather than full.

Hookups

The RV sites page says the paved sites are full hook-up with free cable TV and Wi-Fi as well as water and electricity, while the welcome page says many sites feature water, sewer and electric. Because those two statements are not identical, this directory records the hookup classification as Mixed. If you need a full hook-up site specifically, ask for one by name when you book.

Pets

Pets are welcome with restrictions rather than unconditionally. The published rules require pets to be under the owner’s control at all times and leashed outdoors, say pets may not be left outside unattended or tied to a picnic table, and make droppings the owner’s responsibility anywhere in the park. Rental units are treated separately: there is a pet fee for cabins and cottages, and no pets at all in the single-wide rental.

Rates

Hatteras Sands does not publish nightly RV rates on its website. The rates page lists a ten dollar per day holiday charge for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day, a three night minimum over holidays, deposit and cancellation terms, and a pet fee, but no base site rate. Because no nightly amount is published, this directory shows the rate as not published rather than guessing a dollar band. Call the campground or use its online booking system for a current quote.
